   This great project was pointed out to me by a good friend. I contacted the owner and we agreed on a price and shipping. A few weeks later it arrived at a local shipper and I brought it home. I am working overtime to get my first GPW on the road, fully restored, so this will sit in the wings for a while. I will begin working on research, parts collection and the tool kit.

   I have a deep interest in airborne units, in particular their engineer battalions. Only 1 of these compressors was assigned to an airborne division, so they are quite a rare piece of equipment. My research indicates that only 554 were made and distributed to Airborne Engineer Battalions, Airborne Aviation Battalions, the maintenence training facilities and possibly other engineer units.
